Fiesta dinnerware is the major collectible chinaware in USA due to its durability, chip resistance, vibrant and vivid colors which make them stand alone as compared to other chinaware products.

Fiesta ware designed by Homer Laughlin was introduced in January 1936 at the Pottery and Glass Show in Pittsburgh. By the 1940s, 2,500 workers were working making 30 million pieces a year.
Fiesta dinnerware originally came in five colors: red, dark blue, yellow, light green and ivory. Turquoise was added in 1937 whereas by 1951, light green, cobalt and ivory were replaced by the Fiesta ‘50s colors of forest green, gray, and rose. Soon after the success of these items, more colors were added and some others were replaced. Rose, gray, forest green, turquoise, white, black and apricot were added.

Red was the only original color to remain in production Red was discontinued in 1943 and then resurfaced in 1959 and the entire Fiesta ware line was eventually restyled in 1969.The items were also popular among collectors who searched for pieces manufactured in the earlier times with colors that are not used any more. Fiesta Dinnerware Value depends on the color and type of item.  There are also color lines that were limited editions. Sapphire was sold exclusively by one department store only and ivory was re-launched to recreate the elegance of earlier times.

Fiesta ware has the advantage that they are sold individually and they can be mixed and matched, this innovation became a great advantage as customers do not have to get the whole collection or set but could get some items and try them and buy items when you need them. Moreover, there was no need to spend too much as you could start a collection; this made Fiesta ware very popular.
